River Clyde Fishing Fly Tying Club is now in it’s second year & the club has proved
successful in bringing together members with all different fly tying styles like
Clydestyle, trout, sea trout, grayling bugs, salmon and pike flies to name a few
The
club has introduced a few junior and senior members who had never tied a fly before
to the trappings of fly tying and with some instruction the quality of flies soon
increased.
I am sure these members will agree that catching fish on your own fly that
you made yourself is a wonderful feeling.
The club runs in the winter months when
there is less chance of catching a few hours fishing in the evening. The club typically
starts mid October and it runs until around April.
The club is held at 7pm on a Wednesday
night in Law bowling club.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Law bowling
club for letting us use their venue and for their hospitality.
If you wish to try
your hand at fly tying or you would like to join other liked minded people for the
night and show the other members your own fly tying skills please drop in to the
club, everyone of any skill level is more than welcome.
If you have never tied a fly
before we will soon sort you out with the materials and tools to get you tying that
night.
We also try and cover as many elements of the sport as possible so on some
occasions we have demonstrations on lure (spinner) manufacturing, rod building and
other fishing related demos so we hope there is something to interest everyone.
Please
feel free to visit the club you are guaranteed a warm welcome.
